Five generals named by President Rodrigo Duterte.
President Rodrigo Duterte named the five generals who were allegedly involved in trading of illegal substance in the country during the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) 69th anniversary celebration at Clark Air Base, Angeles Pampanga.
In his speech, President Duterte said he ordered the five police officers relieved from their posts. He identified five police officers including the two who were already retired.
The Chief Executive also said that he wants to talk to the generals and he is expecting for the National Police Commission to investigate them.
He added that he already heard their names when he was still the mayor of Davao City.
“The truth of the moment is, itong mga ito, after so many validations, even when I was still mayor of Davao City, lumalabas na itong mga pangalang ito. Talagang lumalabas na,” he was quoted by ABS-CBN.
Here are the five generals named by President Duterte:
- Deputy Director-General Marcelo Garbo Jr. (retired)
Garbo was a member of PMA class 1981. He previously served as the director of Police Regional office 7 in Central Visayas. He had also stints as National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director. He made headlines during the campaign period when he met with the camp of Mar Roxas.
2. Chief Superintendent Vicente Loot (retired)
Loot was a former director for PNP director for training service. He was recently elected as the mayor of Daanbantayan, Cebu.
3. Chief Superintendent Bernardo Diaz
Diaz was a part of PMA class 1984. he was a former Police Regional Office 6 director. It was reported that he was with Garbo for a supposedly meeting with Roxas.
4. Director Joel Pagdilao
Pagdilao was also a member of PMA “Maharlika” class of 1884. He also served as NCRPO chief, but was replaced Chief Superintendent Oscar D. Albayalde as ordered by the newly-appointed Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
5. Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio
Tinio was a former Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director. He was also part of PMA “Sandiwa” Class of 1985.
