The highly anticipated inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte will feature a simple food and beverages which will be served at the luncheon. Pres. Duterte will be sworn as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines on June 30, 2016 at Malacañang Palace.
The modest ceremony of Pres. Duterte is a testament that under his administration there will be austerity measures to be implemented. According to Lisette Marques, member of the inaugural committee, during the inauguration there would only be five menus prepared by the Duterte team.
The menu includes monggo guisado in cups, lumpia, pandesal with kesong puti and beef longganisa. For desserts, durian tartlets and fried bananas would be on the table.
During Pres. Duterte’s inauguration guest will be served with dalandan juice and pine-mango. The spokesman of Pres. Duterte, Ernesto Abella also noted that the Malacanang Palace caterer would be in charge of the menu.
The caterer of Malacanang is no other than Via Marie who will served the menu during the highly anticipated inauguration of Pres. Duterte. Aside from Via Marie, Glenda Barretto will be rendering variations rendering variations on classic Filipino food.
Based upon the official list of guests, presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella revealed that a total of 627 individuals were invited to attend the inauguration of the first-ever President from Mindanao.
