Donaire Recalls Pacquiao’s anti-LGBT Post

With regards to a very saddening news that had occurred in Orlando yesterday, June 12, 2016, dubbed as the ‘worst mass shooting in the US History,” world boxing champ Nonito “The Flash” Donaire brought back the post of Manny Pacquiao months ago of this year regarding the LGBT society.

In his post on Facebook, Donaire referenced his response to Pacquiao’s very controversial post last February, wherein Pacquiao cited a verse from the bible about putting homosexuals to death.

As can be remembered, on the 19th of February, Donaire said, “I humbly pray that nobody takes the Bible verse Pacquiao posted about ‘put to death gays’ literally. You don’t need to accept their lifestyle, but I’d rather not see it turned into actual action.”

The Flash, Donaire reacted to the incident in Orlando recalling his response to Pacquiao’s post.

“Its scary that months ago I posted that I pray that Pacquiao’s post quoting the Bible about “putting gays to death” Leviticus 20:13 into literal action, “ he said. ” I do not know if there is a similar quote in the Quran but this speaker at a mosque in this video is sending the same message even though he believes in a different religion, “ he added.

Donaire also reminds that “Words are powerful it can make us feel pain, joy, sadness, happiness, hatred, but most of all Love.”

“This is why ‪#‎influential‬ people ie teachers, community ‪#‎leaders‬, ‪#‎celebrities‬ and ‪#‎athletes‬ alike, must be cautious in the messages they put out, “ he highlighted.

“We live in a scary time where ‪#‎respect‬ for ‪#‎life‬ is so miniscule. People are judging, condemning, and taking irreversible actions in the name of their “belief””, he noted.

At the end of his post, Donaire speaks about love by saying that love is a powerful thing, and he quote, ” I think we need to love again. And not love only who you are comfortable with loving, but also loving people you wouldnt readily choose to love. Because in the end ‪#‎love‬ is a very powerful thing. ‪#‎prayforOrlando‬ ‪#‎prayfortheworld‬ ‪#‎LoveIsPeace‬.”
