Aiza Seguerra and Leah Navarro’s heated exchange on Twitter.
Original Pinoy Music (OPM) singers Aiza Seguerra and Leah Navarro had a heated exchange on Twitter over politics. Their conversation on the micro-blogging site is now making rounds online.
Leah Navarro is known as popular singer in the 1970s. She is a member Black and White Movement, a group supporting the outgoing president President Benigno Aquino III.
Aiza Seguerra, on the other hand, is a supporter of the incoming president Rodrigo Duterte. She has performed for several times during the tough-talking politician’s campaign.
Their heated exchange started when Navarro called on Seguerra for supposedly having a change heart on her choice of candidate.
“Now @aizaseguerra claims to see the light. Are the blinders really off?” Navarro Twitted.
Reacting to the Tweet, Seguerra replied: “Claims? My stand has been very clear frm d very beginning. Fairness. Dunno if you cn say the same thing for urself.”
Navarro then told the 32-year-old singer that she is biased, noting that no one is fair during campaign and not even her.
Seguerra said that loyalty should be to the country now that the election is over and should not be to any political party.
“Yes, tita. But campaign is over. Loyalty should be to the country and not any political party,” Seguerra said.
Navarro supported the candidacy of Liberal party standard-bearer Mar Roxas, the closest rival of Duterte whom he defeated with more than 6 million votes.
