Filipino boxing icon and senator-elect Manny Pacquiao gave a glimpse of his elegant mansion situated at a private subdivision in Forbes Park, Makati City.
In the episode of magazine show “Rated K” aired on Sunday, the eight-division boxing world champion took the viewers on a tour of his new house which costs an estimated P700 million.
The overall interior was designed by Budji Layug who was handpicked by his wife Jinkee Pacquiao. Some of the furniture were brought in Italy, while some were made by world-class Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue.
According to Pacquiao, the house symbolizes his new life. The mansion was bought in 2011 after he and his wife overcame the challenges in their marriage. It serves as his peace offering to Jinkee.
Pacquiao said that the favorite hang-out place of his wife and children is the pool area where they usually stay.
The boxer-turned-politician said that they don’t want their children to think much of their properties, but they want them to grow with good attitude towards other people and with fear of the Lord.
“Sa mga anak namin, ayaw din namin tumatanim sa isipan nila ang ari ari-an namin, ‘yung bahay, ‘yung pera dahil noon wala naman kaming pera eh,” he said.
“Ang tangi lang na ma i-invest namin sa kanila is ‘yung turuan namin sila nang magandang asal sa pakikitungo sa kapwa at turuan namin sila magkaroon ng takot sa panginoon,” he added.
Manny Pacquiao retired from boxing after his last match with Timothy Bradley Jr. to run for Senator. He finished in the seventh place based on the final and official vote counts.
