Gibo Teodoro turns down Duterte’s offer

Former Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro has officially turned down the offer of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to be part of his Cabinet.

“I really came here to just thank President Duterte for considering me,” the former presidential aspirant told Inquirer.net and other members of the press on Thursday night, June 2, 2016 noting he had meeting with the president-elect.

Earlier, Duterte announced that he wanted Gibo Teodoro to be his defense secretary.

During previous interviews with the media, the outgoing Davao City mayor noted that he was impressed with the latter’s commitment with his service to the Filipino people.

Gibo Teodoro, a Bar Topnotcher and a certified pilot is the cousin of outgoing President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino. He served as Defense Secretary under the administration of ex-president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
