Leni Robredo said she might not use the Coconut Palace as her office.
Vice President-elect Leni Robredo might not use the Coconut Palace as her office. According to her, she is still looking at ways to use the allotted money aside from renting the workplace.

In an interview with reporters and ABS-CBN News, the outgoing Camarines Sur representative said that she is looking for a cheaper option since the Coconut Palace is too expensive.
“Kung prudent ba, o prudent pa na mag-opisina sa Coconut Palace o baka may option na mas mura. Ang alam ko kasi, ‘yung arkila ng Coconut Palace is a little less than P500,000. Half a million din ‘yun, a month,” she said.
She also added that she has yet to talk to the incumbent Vice Predident Jejomar Binay about the transitions which includes the possibility of changing office.
Coconut Palace is located at the compound of Cultural Center of the Philippines. It serves as the official residence and office of the Vice President.
According to Robredo, the money used for the office can be used in many ways, noting satellite offices as one of her options.
“Ako kasi parati kong sinasabi na ang itutulak ko sana, rural development. Makakatulong sana na merong satellite offices. So iniisip ko, baka mas maganda na tipirin ‘yung operations ng central pero magkaroon several na satellite offices,” she continued.
However, Robredo said that the decision is not yet final until they meet with the outgoing vice president.
