60 Minors Detained For Violating Curfew Ordinance

There are 60 minors detained by the Mandaluyong Police after being outside their homes violating the City Ordinance about curfew, Monday evening.

60 minors detained

In a report by GMA News, these 60 minors were detained by the City Police by violating the ordinance regarding the curfew avoiding minors from roaming public places late in at night.

The report added the police has reminded the parents of the minors about the Code of Responsibility regulated by the City of Mandaluyong.

Not only in Mandaluyong but also in Quezon City that this kind of ordinance is being implemented as there were 21 minors who have been detained by the authorities violating the 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew.

According to the report, the parents of the detained minors would be called to the barangay hall for some briefing or even be directed to do the some community services as the penalty for the offense committed by their children.

Another city that implemented such ordinance is the Taguig City wherein seven minors have been detained due to the violation of the same ordinance.

Many are thinking that the newly proclaimed President of the Republic of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte is starting the implementation of the 10 p.m. curfew he wants to imply all over the country.

In a report on Inquirer, Duterte even said the parents of the children will be arrested if the minors are still roaming the streets after 10 p.m. He pointed out that this is for those unescorted minors only.

This could be part of Duterte’s promise to end crime in just three to six months after sitting in the office.
