Presidential Security Group To Adjust Protocols For Duterte
The upcoming Presidential Security Group (PSG) commander Col. Rolando Bautista said that his team will be adjusting their security for the presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte.
Although the group’s function is to protect the president at any time and it’s challenging, for the incoming president has been known to just go out in the streets of Davao alone at night using a taxi. He does this thing without the help of a bodyguard. He just brings a pistol, in case.
According to a report by CNN Philippines, having worked with Duterte before, Bautista would be working with the incoming president more easily.
Bautista said that his team will be adjusting the security protocols that will best suit the needs of Duterte.
“The PSG will have to adjust… Ang napansin ko sa presumptive president is that he is very reasonable. Na pag may sinabi ka, then he will take that into consideration,” Bautista said on Tuesday as quoted in the article.

The report added that the Presidential Security Group commander was a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) batch 1985 and had been the commander of the 73rd Infantry Battalion where Davao City and Davao del Norte are covered from 2005 to 2007.
Bautista was also the past commander of Task Force General Santos and that present commander of Task Group Basilan that runs after the Abu Sayyaf Group.
The PSG Commander pointed out that the security measures will always depend on the instructions of the present.
