Speaking to GMA News, Jose said that they talked about their dress code, but she respected that Maria Isabel choose not follow it.
“We have a dress code color – beige, white and black. [Pero] okay lang ‘yun. Kasi that’s her prerogative. Nag-apologize naman,” she said.
Lopez became a trending topic on social media after she supposedly steal the scene from lead actress Jose and director Mendoza in the red carpet for wearing an emerald gown and making a “gap” between her co-stars.
Lopez already apologized, but denied that she intended to steal the spotlight from the director and her co-actors. She also explained why he needed to make a gap, saying that that the trail of his gown is too long.
The 52-year-old actress said she was not offended, adding that she is not in the position to decide for the star’s choice of dress.
“Hindi ako na-offend kasi it’s her call. Basta ako, we went there as a team, at uuwi ako as a team. Kahit ‘yung panalo [ako], inakyat ko sila [Brillante at Andi]. That shows [the] type of personality I have – Hindi kita iiwan,” she said.
