Duterte Camp Apologizes To Pastor Apollo Quiboloy

Rodrigo Duterte’s camp apologizes to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

The camp of president-elect Rodrigo Duterte has apologized to head of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) pastor Apollo Quiboloy for apparently snubbing him after the election.

Spokesperson Peter Laviña told ABS-CBN News that it was the staff of outgoing Davao City Mayor who are arranging the his activities and appointments with personalities. He added that it was not their intention to snub him.

“These are not intentional. We wanted to accommodate everyone and of course we want to consult everyone. This is a continuing process,” he said.

He also defended the staff, noting that they were overwhelmed by the huge numbers of people who wanted to speak to Duterte and congratulate him.

“Hopefully, we can extend our apology to Pastor Apollo Quiboloy; the same apology we extended already to Pastor [Absolum] Cerveza of the MNLF [Moro National Liberation Front],” he said.

Pastor Quiboloy is a long-time friend of Duterte and is known as one of his biggest supporters during the campaign.

Yesterday, the church leader’s spokesperson Mike echoed Quiboloy’s sentiments. He said that Quiboly was saddened since the incoming cabinet members did not undergo proper selection.

According to Abe, Pastor wanted to talk to Duterte but he was blocked by the people surrounding him. He also said that they had no communication and consultation after the election.

Abe stressed that Pastor Quiboloy is not interested in any government position, but he only wanted that the incoming cabinet members deserve the position and properly selected.
