COMELEC Transparency Server Tampered, According To An IT Expert
An IT expert who’s monitoring the ongoing counting of votes claimed that the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC transparency server) was tampered with.
According to a report on Inquirer, the IT expert has been monitoring the votes at the Pope Pius XII Catholic Center when he or she observed something.
This observation by the unnamed expert backed the allegations of the camp of the Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Bongbong Marcos. He/She said that the hash codes of the packet data “were changed.”
In an interview, the source said that as 8:00 p.m., May 10, while doing the regular verification of the files that they are extracting from the COMELEC transparency server, the group have found that the “paired hash codes of the file are not the same” – which is wrong.
The team also compared the files from different times as a random sampling and for testing. And they’ve found out that the hash codes were different.
The expert said that the hash codes were intended to “ensure the integrity of the file” and must be the same. He also said that it serves as a seal, lock, or warranty seal.
But, the expert pointed out that the addition of a new script or the change in hash codes doesn’t mean fraud.
The expert said as quoted in the report:
“We don’t have evidence that they changed anything. The only evidence as a result of this random query is that the hash codes were no longer original. If this was undetected agencies tapped to do the protection, do you think the whole system is protected?
He clarified that the end result would be different and said that the threat was from the inside not outside.
According to the camp of Marcos, they claimed that there is indeed an introduction of a new script to the transparency server at past 7:30 pm, May 9.

They also said that after the introduction of the script, the lead of Marcos over Robredo started falling in a distinctive pattern.
But, the spokesperson of Robredo said that Marcos must formalize his allegations to COMELEC.
