Senator Miriam Santiago Votes Early In her Precinct In QC
Presidential candidate Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago cast her vote early Monday morning at the La Vista clubhouse in Quezon City wearing a bright red dress.
According to a report on Inquirer, People’s Reform Party (PRP) standard-bearer Sen. Miriam arrived at the polling precinct just before 7 a.m. in La Vista. Santiago lives in a mansion in the said subdivision.
She was accompanied by her husband, Attorney Narciso Santiago.
The report says that as Santiago gets off her car, the senator, with a smiling face, said to the reporters: “Fight!”
“Well I’d say I’m bright-eyed and bushy-tailed if I were a squirrel,” she told the reporters as quoted in the article.
She also warned the public about the possible cheating of politicians who were afraid of losing and even urged the voters to “guard their votes”. She even added that people should help poll watchers in securing a clean and honest elections.
Senator Santiago placed her votes within five minutes saying that she experienced “easy” voting. But, she then stated that the ballot boxes made of cardboard can be “easily defaced or mutilated or damaged or substituted for.”
“It was very easy, they were very helpful, but at the end, the ballot box where you put your ballot is only made of cardboard…Pag-ingatan ang balota dahil ang paglalagyan pala ng balota ngayon ay cardboard lang,” the senator said.
Santiago has been known to be trailing in the presidential opinion polls but, she still believes on what she call the “youth vote.”
Can Senator Miriam win the elections with her “youth votes”?
