The influential Catholic charismatic movement El Shaddai, headed by Bro. Mike Velarde officially endorsed the candidacy of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as their bet for Vice President in the upcoming 2016 national elections. The religious group who also claims having a bloc vote did not endorse a presidential candidate.
El Shaddai already distributed sample ballots to their members which also contain their chosen 12 senatorial candidates the group is supporting.
The 12 Senate bets are Raffy Alunan, Leila de Lima, Win Gatchalian, TG Guingona, Manny Pacquiao, Kiko Pangilinan, Ralph Recto, Martin Romualdez, Roman Romulo, Francis Tolentino, Joel Villanueva, and Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.
The endorsement got by the leading Vice Presidential bet, Sen. Marcos will give a big boost to the son of the late president who also got the endorsement of the powerful religious sect Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
Based upon the estimates of various groups, El Shaddai has an estimated eight million members all over the world. Sen. Marcos was also one of the national candidates who attended the group’s anniversary last April 30, 2016.
Aside from El Shaddai, the former governor of Ilocos Norte is being endorsed by Buhay Party-List group headed by Rep. Lito Atienza. The party-list is 100 percent being supported by the religious group El Shaddai.
Sen. Marcos also held his “miting de avance” in Mandaluyong City, whose chief executive Mayor Benhur Abalos is the Marcos for VP Movement National Capital Region campaign manager, led the event.
