Duterte mulls to file case against Trillanes who earlier claimed that he has P211 million in undeclared bank account.
Presidential race front-runner Rodrigo Duterte is contemplating to file raps vs. Sen. Antonio Trillanes who earlier claimed that he failed to declare a whooping P211 million in his 2014 statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).
Peter Laviña, the spokesperson of the tough-talking Davao City Mayor said in a statement sent to Inquirer.net and other media groups that legal experts of the PDP-Laban standard-bearer that they mulls of a possible raps that can be filed to the vice-presidential bet.
The 71-year-old politician who seeks the highest post in the country reportedly signed a waiver early this year to allow review of their accounts for the public.
“Not anymore. I’ll make it difficult for Trillanes. It’s just a piece of paper. You prove it. Why will I give it to him? I’ll take the waiver and I will tell him, ‘Prove it. I will not make it easy for you. I will not play into your hands. You prove it,” he said.
Duterte was able to give his statement about the pressing issue in a sideline interview with the press at the Presidential Dialogue on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Makati Business Club.
Duterte made headlines earlier over the claims of Trillanes that he had P211 million in an undeclared bank account which he failed to declare in his 2014 SALN.
“Maniwala kayo (Believe me). That’s garbage. You can check with the bank. You go there,” he said during his speech before several businessmen.
