Vice Presidential bet Sen. Bongbong Marcos is now considered as one of the strongest candidate to win the vice presidential race but due to his recent statement against Mayor Duterte, some of his supporters particularly the Alyansang Duterte Bongbong (AlDub) were hurt with his remarks.
In an interview with the media, Sen. Bongbong Marcos, the running mate of Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago described Mayor Duterte’s remark as “inappropriate.”
The senator added further that “Nagulat kami. It seems unfortunate and I can only describe it as inappropriate. Biktima ‘yung tao ‘tapos dinagdagan pa natin,” Marcos said during an event with Sen. Santiago.
According to Sen. Marcos he believes that Mayor DUterte has already understood the gravity of his remarks and will make up to the family of the victim as well as the people who were offended.
Sen. Bongbong Marcos also stated in a separate interview at the sidelines of a luncheon meeting at the Makati Polo Club later in the day, Marcos said it is a known fact that Duterte is very outspoken and sometimes does not seem to mind his words.
“The mayor is an outspoken person. Yung sinasabing walang filter e yun na siguro si Mayor Digong,” Marcos said.
The senator was also asked if the remark made by Mayor Duterte against the Australian victim during the hostage taking in Davao City, might affect the mayor’s standing in the presidential race, the son of the late Pres. Marcos refused to comment but reminded the public to be more discerning.
