Mayor Rody Duterte Grateful for Topping the Newest SWS Survey Results

The tough-talking mayor of Davao City, considered as one of the safest city in the Philippines, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte revealed through his camp that he is indeed grateful for the newest development in the Social Weather Station survey results wherein he dominated as the top presidential bet by most Filipinos in the 2016 national elections.

According to camp of Mayor Rody Duterte on Monday, the mayor welcomed the development. Peter Tiu Lavina, Duterte’s spokesman was quoted as saying “We are grateful that the surveys are now reflecting what we have been witnessing and experiencing on the ground,” Peter Tiu Lavina, Duterte’s spokesman, said in a statement.

“The new SWS survey affirms the other surveys that have Duterte on the clear lead in the presidential race,” Lavina added.

Aside from the newest victory in terms of national survey, the Duterte camps also thanks all the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who already voted for Mayor Duterte and based on informal exit polls in the Overseas Absentee Voting, Mayor Duterte got an overwhelming support from OFW’s.

Despite the positive development in the advantage of Mayor Duterte in terms of nationwide surveys conducted by the SWS and the informal exit polls overseas showing Mayor Duterte’s lead among other presidential candidates, the Duterte camp promised that they shall continue their campaign to gain even more support and be vigilant to thwart attempts to frustrate the true will of the electorate.

In the latest SWS survey conducted last March 30 up to April 2, Mayor Rody Duterte overtook Sen. Grace Poe after 27 percent of respondents chose Mayor Duterte as their top bet for President of the Philippines.
