Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Tops the Election Survey Results Released by The Standard

The tough-talking mayor of Davao City and considered as the most popular candidate on social media, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte topped the latest election survey conducted by The Standard, one of the country’s leading daily newspaper from March 26 to April 1, 2016. According to The Standard a total of 3,000 respondents from 79 provinces and 40 highly urbanized cities participated in survey.

Duterte Poe Poll Results

Based upon the results released by The Standard, the country’s most popular candidate or most-mobbed presidential candidates on his campaign sorties, Mayor Duterte got 30 percent of the voters preference on The Standard survey. The results of the survey was first released and published online the official website of The Standard.

During the survey, all respondents were ask who would they vote for if the elections were held on that day, the results claimed that Mayor Duterte leads the survey while Sen. Grace Poe ranked second 27 percent. Due to the ±1.8 percent margin of error, Mayor Duterte and Sen. Grace Poe are statistically tied.

Aside from Mayor Duterte and Sen. Grace Poe, coming in third place in the latest The Standard survey is no other than the standard bearer of Liberal Party, Mar Roxas who got 21 percent, while VP Binay only got 21 percent while Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago got only 2 percent.

In the vice presidential race, Sens. Francis Escudero and Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. were statistically tied in the vice presidential race, at 28 percent and 25 percent, respectively. Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo was in third place with 21 percent.

In fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively, were Senators Alan Peter Cayetano with 15 percent, Antonio Trillanes IV with 5 percent, and Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan with 3 percent.
