One of Cebu’s most influential political party, One Cebu, controlled by the influential Garcia family, has reportedly agreed to adopt the most popular presidential candidate on social media, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, the only candidate who really hails from the Visayas and Mindanao.
An insider from the influential One Cebu group, revealed to the media that Cebu gubernatorial candidate Winston Garcia reached the decision to support Mayor Rodrigo Duterte after consulting with their leaders in various cities and municipalities within the province of Cebu.
According to the leaders of One Cebu Party, gubernatorial candidate Winston Garcia, the brother of former governor Gwen Garcia, felt that Mayor Rodrigo Duterte was the best fit for One Cebu compared to other candidates who were mostly based in Metro Manila or in some areas of Luzon.
The insider from One Cebu told some media personality that “With Duterte in Malacanang, One Cebu will be sure that administration will not be centered on imperial Manila,” said the source inside One Cebu.
The rumored highly anticipated endorsement of One Cebu Party on the presidential candidate of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte became a hot topic on various social media sites. Some supporters of Mayor Duterte speculates that the official announcement will be announced a few days from now.
The powerful One Cebu Party already announced last March 21 that they already cut its ties with the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) only a month after they endorsed VP Binay for President.
Some powerful political personalities in the Province of Cebu of already pledged their support for Mayor Duterte which include the influential former Governor Emilio “Lito” Osmena. Former Gov. Gweyn Garcia also noted earlier that Cebuano votes which is considered as the largest nationwide with 2.7 million could easily sway to support Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
