The tough-talking mayor of Davao City, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who is also considered as one of the most favorite candidate on social media finally revealed the owner of the chopper he used during his campaign sorties in the different parts of the country.

According to Mayor Duterte’s revelation, the chopper with body number RP C2048 was owned by his friend Archie Poe of Lion Air, whom the mayor admitted that the company only charged him “operational costs.”
In an interview with the media, the 70-year-old Mayor Duterte was quoted as saying “Matagal ko nang kaibigan yan, long time ago. Umiikot pa kami ng Pilipinas niyan, nagmo-motor kami,” he said.
(We have been friends for a long time. We have been going around the Philippines using motorcycle.)
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte vowed even before his decision to run for president until now that he is campaigning for the highest post that he would not receive any contribution from individuals with vested interest.
There are some reports also that Mayor Duterte previously declined an offer from one of the country’s largest telecom company who offered him support but the Mayor insisted that the company should improve their service first before he will allow them to support his candidacy.
Mayor Duterte’s statement against big time companies who were supporting politicians put him on the limelight among intelligent Filipino voters as the mayor insists that he would not receive any contribution from individuals with vested interest.
Aside from Mayor Duterte, the other presidential candidates namely Mar Roxas and Sen. Grace Poe declared the owner of choppers and planes they used during campaign sorties. Mar Roxas admitted that he was using the private plane of a controversial company involved in alleged illegal mining while Sen. Grace Poe used the private planes of the company San Miguel Corporation.
