Veteran politician and one of the most respected personality in the Bicol Region, Albay Governor Joey Salceda revealed during an interview with the media that if the ruling Liberal Party will lose in Bicol, blame it on DOTC Secretary Jun Abaya.
According to the governor the delay in the completion of the Bicol International Airport (BIA) will hurt the national candidates of the Aquino administration in Region V which counts to at least three million combined voters.
The Governor blamed DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, for the delay of the major infrastructure project in Bico and noted further that the international airport should have been completed and operational this year.
Gov. Salceda stated that he was disappointed with the DOTC over the delay in the construction of the BIA, which is also called as the Southern Luzon International Airport in Daraga town, despite the availability of funds from the national government.
He expressed dismay over Abaya’s statement blaming losing bidders for the delays in government flagship projects like airports and seaports.
