Presidential candidate Jejomar “Jojo” Binay was caught in the act giving money to poor residents in Makati City is currently making the rounds online but some of his supporters noted that the video was taken during the time when he was still the mayor of Makati.
The video which was first posted by the popular Facebook Page RBreezy already garnered more than 3 million views on Facebook. The same video with different background music was also posted by a well-known Mayor Duterte supporter, the Mocha Girls Facebook Page.
Although there is no clear explanations with the viral video, some netizens speculated that the video was taken way before the official campaign period of the 2016 elections because of the background image that pertains to the old city hall building of Makati.
There are netizens who also stated that no matter what time the video was taken it is still illegal to distribute monetary privileges to Binay’s constituents without a clear explanation. The camp of VP Binay did not make a statement regarding the latest viral video that could affect his presidential run.
