The phenomenal actor Alden Richards, the other half of the popular AlDub tandem featuring Maine Mendoza and Alden made some headlines recently after a show which is supposed to be held at the Philippine Arena today, February 20 was cancelled due to a reported low ticket sales.

Alden Show Cancelled

The show titled “Sa Totoong Buhay Naman” was top-billed by Alden Richards based upon the poster shown on its promotional flyers was cancelled due to the producer’s decision not to proceed with the scheduled show. According to some sources of Inquirer, the show reportedly had “only 74 tickets sold.”

According to the Inquirer’s source, the cancellation was “the producer’s decision” because of the very low turn-out with only 74 tickets sold despite the fact that the Philippine Arena has a seating capacity of 55,000.

The show’s poster had a photo of the performers led by Richards, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Jerald Napoles, Ruru Madrid and Jon Lucas, along with the group That’s My Bae.

Some supporters of Alden Richards could not believe the news posted by Inquirer and commented that Alden Richards was just one of the show’s guest and not the main performer of the show which was sponsored by a networking company.

  2. This is not true. It was not cancelled, only postponed and rescheduled since the organizers want to include Maine Mendoza in the said concert. And this is not Alden Richards’ concert. It is a benefit concert, a charity event.

    • Nah! Okay, if you’re a producer and the entire ticket was sold out, would you cancel a concert for that matter just because the majority who purchased the tickets wants another artist to be included in the show? Enough for the excuses, accept the fact that the concert was indeed cancelled/postponed rescheduled or whatever you want to call it. Just face the reality so everyone moves on.
