VP Binay Leads SWS Presidential Survey Results for February 2016

Presidential candidate Jejomar Binay who faces numerous corruption allegations leads the latest Social Weather Station presidential preference survey conducted this month of February and the results was released by SWS and Businessworld.

The standard bearer of the United Nationalist Alliance VP Jejomar “Jojo” Binay retained the top spot in the latest pre-election survey of Businessworld-Social Weather Stations (BW-SWS). VP Binay’s lead against his rival slightly dropped from 31 percent in January and 29 percent in February.

The country’s most popular presidential candidate on social media, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is tied with another controversial candidate Sen. Grace Poe in second place with 24 percent according to SWS.

Based upon the latest survey of the SWS, Mayor Duterte of Davao City jumped 4 percent from 20 percent in January while Sen. Grace Poe’s scored remained the same compared to the January 2016 presidential preference survey of the SWS.

Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, the Liberal Party’s standard bearer placed third with 18 percent followed by Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago who got 4 percent. Former Partylist congressman, the late Rep. Roy Señeres, who died February 8 after backing out the presidential race got 0 percent according to the SWS Survey results.

The survey was conducted from Feb. 5 to 7 with 1,200 validated voters as respondents and with sampling error margins of ±3 points.
