Vice President Jejomar Binay who is aiming for the highest position in the Philippines taps the service of veteran campaign strategist Ronaldo Puno who was instrumental in the campaigns of the three former President of the Philippines.
During the previous national elections, Ronaldo Puno was credited as the man who engineered the electoral victories of former President Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. According to the confirmation of the Binay’s camp, Puno joined the core team of the Vice President’s campaign in September last year.
Reginald Velasco, the secretary general of the National Unity Party (NUP) confirmed the news to the media that one of the country’s most prominent campaign strategist joined their team. The National Unity Party aims to join with Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) who is making a bid to become the dominant minority party in the 2016 national elections.
Ronaldo Puno who also served as a DILG secretary and congressman of the First District of Antipolo City is now the chief adviser of the National Unity Party (NUP), while his brother Antipolo Rep. Roberto Puno is the chairman of the NUP.
VP Binay’s camp also confirmed that Ronaldo Puno was already working for the Vice President’s campaign and has been helping Binay since last year by giving him ideas on the campaign strategies to be used in the crucial days before the election period.
Some sources also noted that Ronaldo Puno’s service was not paid, he already advised the Vice President on where to put his ads. The political strategist Ronaldo Puno came aboard to reenergize Binay’s campaign, whose name was cauht under fire through numerous allegations of corruptions.
