The first expelled member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) revealed to the media that he is now concerned over his safety and of his family in the wake of the sudden arrest of former INC member Lowell Menorca II. According to the former INC minister both of them became the subjecs of the church’s alleged witch hunt to find those behind the online posts baring purported corruption within the INC.
Isaias Samson has gone deeper into hiding following the earlier arrest of Menorca while on his way to the Court of Appeals just before he was supposed to testify on his plea for court protection against the INC.
In an interview with Inquirer, Samson revealed that some members of the INC called him to inform him that he will be the next one to be arrested.
The former INC minister was quoted as saying “I am very much concered about my security. In fact to tell you the truth, after [Menorca’s arrest], some members called me with inside information that I’ll be the next one to be arrested,” he said.
Samson said it was clear that the arrest aimed to stop Menorca’s supposed testimony, where he was expected to detail the alleged detention of his family at the church’s main compound.
