LeBron James & Stephen Curry Leads 30-Man Roster of the US Olympic Basketball Team

Reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry and his rival LeBron James were named in a 30-man provisional roster of the United States Olympic Basketball squad. Out of the 30 basketball stars invited, the final line-up of the US Olympic Basketball Team will be chosen to represent the country in Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Stephen Curry was just one of the five players from the NBA Champion team, Golden State Warriors who was included in the 30-man provisional line-up which include Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala.

Cleveland Cavaliers star player LeBron James on his part is a three-time Olympic medalist and he is aiming to head to Rio de Janeiro ths coming August for the fourth successive Olympic appearance and a possible gold medal for the United States.

According to US Men’s National Team director Jerry Colangelo, chosing the final 12 line-up is the most difficult as this year feature 30 talented players from 17 different NBA Teams, headed by the Warriors with 5 players while the Cavaliers and Clippers had three players on the line-up.

During the past few days, one of the most popular player in the US, retiring LA Lakers guard Kobe Bryant formally withdrew from consideration, saying he wanted to free up space for the next generation of US players.
