Alaska Aces Defeats San Miguel in Game 1 of the PBA All Filipino Cup Finals (Highlights Video)

The Alaska Aces drew first blood in the highly anticipated finals series against the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday night as the Aces conquered the Beermen with the final score of 100-91. Aces big man Vic Manuel tied his career-high 24 points during the game 1 of the PBA finals as they outlasted the June Mar Fajardo-less San Miguel Beermen.

During Game 1 of the PBA All Filipino Cup finals, Vic Manuel also known as Alaska’s quiet leading scorer, came off the bench and unleashed 14 out of his 24 total in the fourth quarter. Guards Cyrus Baguio and Chris Banchero contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively.

Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Calvin Abueva scored a double-double 12 points and 13 rebounds as he came off the bench during Game 1. He was instrumental in the rebounding department as the Aces led with a lopsided 48-23 edge on the boards.

San Miguel Beermen played without their main weapon, big man June Mar Fajardo who rested after suffering a knee injury in Game 6 of the San Miguel’s semis game against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
