The Philippines first Miss Universe title-holder Miss Gloria Diaz wants a hefty fine against the host of the 2015 edition of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant. Comedian Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner of the pageant as he mixed up the results.
Steve Harvey announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez was the winner of the 2015 Miss Universe but later on he apologized as Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the rightful winner of the event.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, the 1969 Miss Universe winner, Gloria Diaz noted that the host should pay a fine of 100 thousand dollars to Miss Columbia and to the Miss Universe organization.
The first Filipina Miss Universe was quoted as saying “He should pay a fine of 100 thousand dollars to Ms. Columbia and to the Ms. Universe,” Diaz said in an interview with TV Patrol, referring to Steve Harvey.
Aside from Miss Gloria Diaz, the other Filipina title-holder of the Miss Universe crown, Miss Margie Moran, the 1973 winner said that she “felt sorry for both candidates.”
Margie Moran also added that Pia Wurtzbach was the rightful winner because she excelled in the question and answer portion of the event, one of the highly anticipated program during the Miss Universe coronation night.
