The country’s weather bureau, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on their latest weather bulletin that Bagyong Nona has slight weakened and is now over the West Philippine Sea but already leave a total of four fatalities. Aside from Bagyong Nona, the weather bureau also announced that they have already spotted a new Low Pressure Area (LPA) in the Pacific.
PAGASA noted that Bagyong Nona was packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph. It was moving west northwest at 9 kph.
Public storm warning signal 3 remains hoisted over northern Occidental Mindoro and Lubang Island. These areas should expect 121 to 170 kph of winds in 18 hours.
Under signal number 2 are Bataan, Batanga, Cavite, northern Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Occidental Mindoro. These areas should expect 61 to 120 kph of winds in 24 hours.
Metro Manila, Pampanga, southern Zambales, Bulacan, Laguna, Calamian group of Islands, the rest of Oriental Mindoro, and Antique are under signal number 1 and should expect 30 to 60 kph of winds in 36 hours.
According to the latest updates from local authorities affected by the onslaught of Bagyong Lando, a total of four people died in the event and leaving millions of people without power ahead of the Christmas holidays.
