Pres. Aquino Reacts in Cancellation of Sen. Grace Poe’s COC for President

Rome, Italy – The President of the Republic of the Philippines reacts on the latest issue involving the cancellation of Sen. Grace Poe’s Certificate for President and noted that he sees the “logic” in the ruling tof the Commission on Election (COMELEC) Second Division.

Although the President already give his reactions on the issue, he noted that there are still questions on the decision of the Comelec’s second division to disqualify Sen. Grace Poe from the 2016 national elections.

In an interview with the reporters in Rome, Pres. Aquino also pointed out that the “confusion” in Sen. Grace Poe’s repeated use of her US passport even after supposedly renouncing her US citizenship, but the senator could still apeal to the Supreme Court.

Pres. Aquino was quoted as saying “Hindi ako SET (Senate Electoral Tribunal), hindi ako Comelec, pareho silang independent bodies. Hindi rin ako Supreme Court. Pero parang nakikita ko ‘yung logic nung sinasabi rito. Pero, again, marami pang avenue si Senator Grace na pwedeng pasukan all the way to the Supreme Court to have clarity in all of this,” he said.

The 55-year-old President of the Philipines, Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III denied the allegations thrown at them that the Liberal Party of the administration was behind the disqualification cases against Sen. Grace Poe, prompting that the administration had wanted her to join the ticket.
