The Filipinos recovered strong on their second game against Hong Kong after they were surprised and humiliated by FIBA Asia newcomer Palestine who already secured a spot for the next round after they defeated Kuwait on their second game.
Gilas Pilipinas is now ranked second behind Palestine in Group B with a 1-1 win-loss card. The Filipinos hope to finish the first stage with 2-1 record and advance to the second group phase where they will meet three new teams.
