Four Re-electionist Senators Included in Liberal Party’s Senatorial Slate

The administration party, Liberal Party of the Philippines released their initial line up for Senators in the 2016 national elections as they named a total of four re-electionist senators who will run for Senate seat in the upcoming elections.

Senate President Franklin Drilon will join Sen. Ralph Recto, Sen. Teofisto “TG” Guingona III and former Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan as senatorial bets of the Liberal Party.

Aside from the four well-known politicians, the party’s standard-bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II also confirmed that former Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla will also run for senator under the administration party.

Based upon earlier reports, the other possible senatorial candidates under the Liberal Party includes Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, and Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno to name a few.

Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao is also speculated to join the Senate race under the Liberal Party, but recent reports suggests that he will join Vice President Binay’s senatorial slate.

The ruling Liberal Party is set to reveal its vice presidential candidate and complete senatorial slate on September 28.
