Mamasapano Survivor PO2 Andrada One of the Country’s Ten Outstanding Police Officer

One of the Mamasapano survivor, PO2 Adolfo Andrada was awarded by the PNP as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS) for 2015. The police officer served the PNP for seven years, most of his time was spent with the 84th Special Action Company (SAC). He now teaches young police recruits waterborne operations.

Outstanding PNP

PO2 Andrada is one of 10 policemen chosen by the Metrobank Foundation Inc. and its other partners as the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS) for 2015. He is one of one of the member of the 84th SAC, the assault force in the Mamasapano operations who killed high-profile terrorists in Mindanao.

Aside from PO2 Andrada, the other awardees were Senior Supt. Marlo Meneses, Senior Supt. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, Senior Supt. Valfrie Tabian, Senior Insp. Maricris Mulat, SPO4 Florante Ubina, SPO1 Aurora Joy Manuela, SPO3 Dino Sagayo, SPO2 Dominador Canlas and PO2 Mary Catherine Demontaño.

The Metrobank Foundation received 157 nominations this year, but only 10 were chosen. According to the award giving body, each COPS awardee will receive a gold medal, a trophy, and a P400,000 cash prize during the formal awarding ceremony on Sept. 3.
