The live coverage of the FIBA World Cup 2019 announcement of hosts and final pitch started at around 3:00 PM today, August 7, 2015. The host will be announced at the end of the event which was held in Tokyo, Japan.
The Philippines showed the passion of basketball during the time when the country hosted the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and is now eyeing for the world’s grandest stage, the FIBA World Cup 2019 basketball event.
The country’s presenters include Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario, Philippine basketball federation president Manny V. Pangilinan, former national team head coach Chot Reyes, former national player Jimmy Alapag, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and Filipino Hollywood actor Lou Diamond Phillips.
China, on the other hand, is relying on its heavyweight experience of mounting huge sporting events such as 2008 Summer Olympics and regular FIBA events.
