The President of one of the country’s educational institution, the Cavite State University, who caught the attention of the media when Vice President Binay made a controversial visit, President Divinia Chavez denied the allegations that she knew the visit of the country’s second highest elected official.
During the August 3, 2015 “student assembly” sponsored by the Cavite State University Student Council, the President of the educational institution, Pres. Dvinia Chavez, “swears on her life” that she did not know that Vice President Jejomar Binay was the guest of honor during the student’s activities.
In an interview with GMA News’ 24 Oras, the CvSU President was quoted as saying “Hindi ko po talaga alam. Mamatay na po kaming lahat. Sumusumpa po ako; dalawang kamay akong tumataas na hindi ko po talaga alam,” Chavez was quoted as saying.
During the said student assembly, Vice President Jejomar Binay gave the “true” State of the Nation Address where he slammed anew the “bumbling and insensitive” government led by the country’s head of state, President Benigno S. Aquino III. Although the Vice President kept on accusing the administration, he kept his mouth shut on the corruption allegations hurled against him and his family in Makati City.
Although the President of the State University denied the allegations that she has the knowledge of the said event, the CvSU Central Student Government President Vincent Bae, owned up for inviting VP Binay to speak in their school and keeping it secret to the university’s administration.
Meanwhile the Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda posted on his social media accounts a copy of a memorandum from the Office of the University President requiring third and fourth year college students to attend a “student assembly” sponsored by the Central Student Government.
