Mayor Duterte Shared Reactions on Pres. Aquino’s Final SONA

One of the most popular city mayor in Mindanao, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte aired his reactions on the last and final State of the Nation Address by Pres. Benigno Aquino III on Monday, July 27, 2015 whom the mayor watched personnaly in Davao City. The mayor was disappointed with the President’s SONA.

Mayor Duterte who is considered as one of the most strongest presidential contender in the Visayas and Mindanao area was watching the President’s SONA at the People’s Park with the crowd. He gave the President a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, saying the grade could have been higher had the President spoken on solving criminality.

The Davao City Mayor was quoted as saying “I supposed he was not given the information about the drug problem. It was only a month ago that the Manila Police revealed that 9 out of 10 youth are influenced by drugs. That is dangerous, it already involves national security.”

Mayor Rody Duterte found it in bad taste that Pres. Aquino was still criticizing President Arroyo in his 6th SONA. The mayor added “Arroyo is now in jail. Past is past. It would have been good if he mentioned what he will do from this day toward the last day of his term, rather than keep on blaming and accusing the previous administration. What for?” Duterte said.

Aside from Mayor Duterte his Vice Mayor son, Paolo Duterte also shared the sentiments of his father, noting that the blame is still on the previous administration and he was disappointed and frustrated with Pres. Aquino’s last and final SONA as president of the Republic of the Philippines.

Although Mayor Duterte commented that President Aquino is a “clean man” but he noted that he cannot comment about the other people around him.
