Two of the country’s most popular news anchors and journalists, Anthony “Tunying” Taberna and Gerry Baja, the DZMM news anchor of “Dos Por Dos” aired their official statement regarding the controversy involving the Iglesia Ni Cristo, where the two journalists were prominent members.
Anthony Taberna and Gerry Baja explained why they will not talk about the issue surrounding the church. The veteran journalist Anthony Taberna was quoted as saying “minabuti po namin na mag-inhibit sa pagtalakay sa isyu, anuman po ang aming sabihin ay maari pong ipagpalagay na self serving o bigyan ng ibang kulay ng mga partidong sangkot po sa usapin” Taberna stated.
Both journalists also asked an apology to their avid listeners particularly to their top-rating radio program their delayed official statement regarding the controversy involving their chosen religion, the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
In a separate report by Philippine Star, the wife of Anthony Taberna, Rossel Taberna did not issue an official statement regarding the controversy involving the INC.
