The country’s weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that the latest weather disturbance to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Bagyong Goring (international name “Halola”) is expected to leave the country within 24 hours.
According to the Friday’s weather bulletin of PAGASA released on Friday morning in its 5:00 AM advisory, the weather bureau stated that Bagyong Goring was last spotted at 1,235 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.
Bagyong Goring maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 145 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 180 kph.
The latest weather disturbance to hit the country, is moving west at 15 kph, and has no direct effect on any part of the country. Although Bagyong Goring is expected to exit the Philippines, PAGASA also monitored another potential cyclone.
A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 130 kilometers east northeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
