Following the formal turn over ceremony, the Philippine Navy received the vessels followed by the commissioning and immediate deployment of the vessels with its new crew to the Philippines.

The memorandum of agreement for the country was signed by PN Vice Admiral Jesus Millan.

Millan thanked the Australian government saying the donation will boost the maritime capabilities of the Philippine fleet.

He also noted that the LCH vessels will be used to transport troops and equipment, and to assist in humanitarian and disaster relief activities in the region.

It was since last year when Australian government announced the donation to the Philippines.

The two LCH vessels were then decommissioned by the Australian Navy in November 2014 as it is expected to arrive in the country in August this year.
