Ceres Bus Collision Injured Dozens of Passengers in Negros Occidental (Photos)

One of most dominant bus company bus company in the Visayas, Ceres Bus Liner owned by Vallacar Transit collided with fellow Ceres Bus along a national highway in Enrique B. Magalona (Saravia) town in Negros Occidental on Wednesday morning July 22, 2015.

According to Senior Inspector Conrado Rances, EB Magalona town police chief confirmed that at least 4 people died during the incident while injuring around 43 passengers.

Earlier reports noted that there were six fatalities in the incident but authorities later corrected the figure, sayng that the two victims showed signs of life and were rushed to the hospital.

Authorities reported that the driver of Ceres Bus 5126 bound for Escalante City from Bacolod City, executed an overtake on the right side of a vehicle he was tailing but did not have enough space, prompting him to return to his lane but lost controls.

An incoming Ceres Bus 5169 bound fro Bacolod City from Victorias City rammed against Ceres Bus 5126. The driver of Ceres Bus 5126 is now in police custody while the other driver was invited for questioning.
