The highly anticipated Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Leo Awards for the year 2015 could be a “June Mar Fajardo Show” according to some sports analysts who predicted that the Cebuano slotman will bring home some individual honors during the 40th season of the PBA.
June Mar Fajardo dominated the annual PBA Leo Awards last year and he is expected to win some of the most elusive individual honors in the PBA and could make another show this season.
The 6-foo-10 behemoth and considered as one of the country’s most dominating big man is on line for another rich harvest in the PBA season-end awards night will be held tonight, before the start of the PBA Governor’s Cup Game 4 Finals game, between San Miguel Beermen and the Alaska Aces.
The 26-year-old June Mar Fajardo is expected to in the coveted Most Valuable Player award and earn spots in the Mythical Selection and in the All-Defensive Team. He could also bags the Sportsmanship Award which bring him more recognition in Asia’s first professional basketball league.
During the previous PBA Season, June Mar Fajardo capped his sophomore year by winning the MVP award, the Most Improved Player citation and inclusions in the Mythical First Five and All-Defensive Team.
Aside from June Mar Fajardo, some of the famous PBA players this season is expected to received their individual honors. GlobalPort Batang Pier’s rookie Stanley Pringle is tipped to be the hands-down winner of the Rookie of the Year 2015 while Jayson Castro, Paul Lee, Greg Slaughter and Arwind Santos may join Fajardo in the Mythical First Team.
According to the PBA’s statistical records, June Mar Fajardo, Jayson Castro and Greg Slaughter are three players who made it to the official list of candidates for the PBA Most Valuable honors.
