The national government through Malacañang, declared suspension of classes and government work in Metro Manila suspended due to inclement weather brought about by Bagyong Egay.
Malacañang issued Memorandum Circular 77, which was issued past 3:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2015, that work in government offices and classes in all levels both in public and private schools in Metro Manila are suspended immediately.
Although works in government agencies in Metro Manila were suspended, the memo noted that government agencies which are involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other important public services will continue with their operations.
According to Malacañang, the suspension of classes and work in the National Capital Region was made upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa signed the Memorandum Circular 77 by the authority of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III.
