Bagyong Egay Slightly Weakens (Storm Signals & Hourly Updates)

The country’s weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that Bagyong Egay (international name: Linfa) slightly weakens as it slowly moved northward midday Monday, July 6, 2015.

According to PAGASA as of 4:00 PM today, Bagyong Egay was spotted at 200 km Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

Bagyong Egay packed maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the centers and gusts of up to 90 kph.

Meanwhile, listed below are the official Public Storm Warning Signals hoisted by PAGASA:

Signal No. 2 = Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Abra,

Signal No. 1 = Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan group of Islands, Northwest of Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, La Union and Benguet.

PAGASA also noted that rains will continue to be experienced especially on the western part of the Philippines.

Bagyong Egay is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday evening.

Aside from Bagyong Egay, PAGASA also issued a warning regarding an upcoming storm which is currently located outside PAR. The storm with an internatonal name Chan-Hom, is expected to pass close to the PAR boundary by Tuesday or Wednesday but it is not expected to make a landfall.
