Former PBA MVP and one of the most prominent franchise player of Purefoods, James Yap is rumored to move to Kia Carnival, one of the newest member of the Philippine Basketball Association. The rumors of James Yap moving to Purefoods heats up online after the PBA player posted a photo of himself posing with KIA K9 Luxury Car.
The 33-year-old James Yap was seen posing with the newest luxury car worth P5 million and added a caption: “Thank you Kia Philippines for the new Kia K9!”
James Yap has been with Purefoods now known as the Star Hotshots since the year 2004 after a successful stint with the University of the East Warriors in the UAAP.
The Instagram post of James Yap prompted contrasting reactions for his fans and for all basketball fans who saw the post. James Yap did was rumored to left Purefoods for Kia but the management of Kia was quick to deny speculations that James Yap will transfer to Kia.
In a separate report from Spin.ph, James Yap revealed that he is the luxury ambassador of Kia, and there’s no commitment outside of using the car. He was quoted as saying “Parang luxury ambassador lang. Pero walang commitment outside of the use ng car,” said the two-time PBA Most Valuable Player. “Kasi sabi nga nila, puro sports people daw kasi gusto maging associated sa K9, parang si LeBron (James). Kaya okay naman.”
