Former PBB winner and comedian Melai Cantiveros was named as the first-ever grand winner of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” on Sunday night at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at Resorts World Manila. Melai Cantiveros who performed a Miley Cyrus hit during the grand finale garnered 51.93% of the total votes and brought home the title.

The 27-year-old Melai Cantiveros won the hearts of the viewers during her impersonation of international singer Miley Cyrus on Saturday night’s finale performance of the Final Four contestants.
Right after the announcement of winners, Melai Cantiveros was quoted as saying “Ay naku, talaga sobra. I cannot believe this is happening. God moves in mysterious ways talaga, kasi hindi naman talaga kasi ako kuwan, singer, but Lord, thank you. Sa aking, kuwan, charity, sa simbahan sila, thank you very much kasi nagpray siguro sila ng rosary kaya nanalo ako. Thank you sa inyong pray,” Cantiveros said.
As the winner of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” Melai Cantiveros took home P2 million in cash prize, half of which will be donated to her chosen charity, the Alay Kapwa Desk of the Social Action Center for Diocese of Marbel, whose some leaders were present during the awarding ceremonies.
Melai Cantiveros who admitted that she is not a real singer was considered as one of the toughest contestant in the show as she became a consistent high-scorer during the entire season, she also won the trophy for impersonating Elizabeth Ramsey on the show’s ninth week.
Veteran singer Nyoy Volante came in second place with 24.51% of votes after his impersonation of Whitney Houston during the grand finale. R&B singer Jay R came in third place for his impersonation of Frank Sinatra while Edgar Allan Guzman ranked fourth for his performance as Chris Brown.
