Tutti Caringal, the lead vocalist of the Pinoy band 6Cyclemind, finally wins the weekly prize of the top-rating show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” as he channeled Filipino rock icon Ely Buendia on the 11th week and brought home the P100,000 cash prize, half of which will be donated to day care centers in Cabuyao, Laguna.

The rock icon, Tutti Caringal who also served as a municipal councilor in Cabuyao, Laguna, earned praises for his “Ang Huling El Bimbo” performance, along with his bandmates during the weekend edition of the unique singing competition. During the performance, Tutti Caringal also played the same guitar used by Ely Buendia in the song’s music video.
Judge Gary Valenciano praised Tutti Caringal for doing an “excellent” job on his rendition of the popular Eraserheads classic song. Gary V. was quoted as saying “Tutti, you really are, 100% unadulterated, pure rocker. That’s what you are. And because of that, I feel that you did an excellent job doing Ely Buendia,” he said.
Judge Jed Madela on his part stated “Isa lang ang masasabi ko sa performance mo ngayong gabi: kapani-paniwala. You sound like Ely, you look like Ely, ‘yung expression sa mukha mo, the way you moved on stage. Actually you didn’t move, but then ‘yung aura mo was really Ely Buendia on stage,” Jed Madela said.
The lone lady judge of show, Sharon Cuneta noted that Tutti Caringal is indeed a rock star. The megastar Sharon Cuneta was quoted “You are a rock star, you really are. You’ve always been, that is you. But you have been assigned many rock artists on our show. Ang lagi kong hinahanap, Tutti, ‘yung gusto kong marinig ‘yung konting similar na similar sa boses. I think tonight, hindi eksaktong Ely, pero you nailed it, because ‘yung ginagaya mo siya, kitang kita ko ‘yung effort na you put into it. I love this performance of yours,” Sharon Cuneta said.
In announcement made by ABS-CBN, next week will be the last week performances with only the top four performers moving on to the grand finals of the competition.
