Celia Veloso, after being the bashed by netizens for her criticisms of the Aquino administration, yesterday begged for understanding.
The mother of the convicted Mary Jane Veloso spoke during the mass at the Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City, emotionally airing her sentiments for the alleged insufficient and inefficient assistance given to her daughter.
The older Veloso also sought forgiveness from the netizens whose raged inflicted through harsh comments.
She pointed out that it was painful for her to helplessly watch her ‘innocent’ daughter in the foreign jail adding she spent sleepless nights worrying about Mary Jane.
“She is my only daughter. She was with men in the prison cell. As a mother if that is the situation your daughter is in what would you feel? Would you thank the president?” Celia asked.
Celia also added that the frustration on the predicament of her daughter led her to criticize the Aquino administration.
Earlier, however, President Aquino said through Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretay Herminio Cololma Jr., that he is not taking anything against the Veloso family despite the harst statements thrown against his administration even saying that he understand what the family is going through.
Coloma also added that it would be up to the Veloso family to apologize for their earlier statements said against the President.
“We fully understand their situation and the President and this government just wanted to help in any way to ease their burden,” he added.
Celia and her husband also said earlier in the television interview that they can only forgive the government if Mary Jane can already fly back home.
