Actress Maxene Magalona had become emotional during her performance Saturday on ABS-CBN’s Your Face Sounds Familiar impersonating her departed father.

Regarded as the country’s King of Pinoy Rap, Francis Magalona also known as Francis M has become one of the icons in the local music industry. Francis M was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia which caused his death on 2009.
Maxene’s performance rendering the 90’s hit “Mga kababayan” during sixth week of the celebrity singing and impersonation show seemed to resurrect Francis M.
“Sobra-sobrang happy ako na nagawa ko to para kay Papa, at para sa lahat ng fans niya. Kasi talaga pong napaka-proud ako hindi lang dahil siya si Francis Magalona, pero napakabuti po niyang tao. At alam po lahat yan ng mga nakakakilala sa kanya”, Maxene said, teary-eyed.
Maxene also admitted that it was her dream to impersonate her father noting that her experience on the show would not be completed without giving a tribute performance to her dad.
Maxene affected the judges and the audience with her emotional performance wearing an outfit like what her father wore during Gary V’s “Major Impact” concert in 1990.
