Lady Gaga is ‘Icon’ Award Recipient at Songwriters Hall

Lady Gaga was recently announced by the Songwriters Hall of Fame as a recipient of icon status.

The pop superstar is set to receive her Contemporary Icon Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame, June 18.

According to a statement made by the Hall on Thursday, the award is to honor a performing songwriter and that Gaga has attained an iconic status in pop culture.

The 29-year-old superstar has had a hand writing in most of her hits including “Poker Face, “Applause” and “Just Dance”.

The Grammy winner is the latest addition to the coaster of Icond Award recipients honored at the New York ceremony following Bobby Braddock, Willie Dixon, Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia, Toby Keith, Cyndi Lauper and Linda Perry .

Alongside with Gaga, Van Morrison will receive the Johnny Mercer Award and fun’s Nate Ruess will receive the Hal David Starlight Award, given to young songwriters.
